Illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing poses significant ecological, economic, and social threats. Environmentally, it accelerates overfishing, depleting fish stocks and disrupting marine ecosystems, often targeting endangered species or using destructive methods like bottom trawling. Economically, it undermines legitimate fisheries, costing the global economy an estimated $10–$23 billion annually, and harming coastal communities that rely on sustainable fishing for livelihoods. The Neptune Maritime Intelligence Platform addresses the growing need for proactive maritime security by leveraging geospatial AI to detect and respond to suspicious vessel activities in real time. It continuously analyzes global ship movements, identifying behaviors such as loitering, route deviations, suspicious encounters, and speed anomalies.
