Motivation
Video consumption has dramatically changes media industry. Youtube and Twitch have become so popular and live streaming is on the rise. A new york times survey showed 81% watched more live video in 2016 than in 2015. Live streaming is great for viewers to communicate with the streamer via live chat. However, viewers don’t have access to the streamer’s environment or have control over the stream content. The interaction is one-way and the viewers can only watch.
What if viewers can also control what they are watching? This is the aim of our project - break the boundaries of one-way streaming by giving users the control over parts of the streamers environment and creating a highly interactive streaming experience.
