Inspiration

It all started when Leo listened to Bad Bunny's album, "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" ("I Should Have Taken More Photos"). That one line hit like a train—how many good moments pass us by because we think they’re too small or “not good enough” for the ‘Gram? Add to that our love for those moments when everything aligns—a golden sunset, a perfect laugh, or the way the rain feels more cinematic in certain places. We. was born to save all of it: the silly, the breathtaking, and the fleeting.

What It Does

We. is a photo album... but with a twist. It’s built on a map. You can:

Drop pins anywhere in the world to save your memories
Add photos or captions to remember why that moment mattered
Relive your best memories, beautifully layered on the places they happened
Explore the world through others’ pins—find hidden gems, iconic photo ops, or just feel connected to life everywhere

It’s like a time machine, scrapbook, and memory jar all rolled into one—preserving the big moments and the subtle magic in between.

How We Built It

Frontend: Built using React with Tailwind CSS, we designed an elegant, user-friendly interface that feels like flipping through a digital photo album layered onto a map. We used Mapbox GL JS for the incredible map UI.
Backend: Powered by Supabase, our backend takes care of:
- Storing pins with location, time, and media.
- Managing real-time updates for instant sharing with others.

Challenges We Ran Into

Media Handling
Making sure photos looked stunning without eating up storage or slowing the app was a technical (and emotional) rollercoaster.
Location Context
Showing people where their memories live is cool, but making the map intuitive and not cluttered with pins took a ton of design finesse.
