Inspiration
I've been to over 20 hackathons as a hacker, sponsor, and mentor. Regardless of my role, I've always had difficulty navigating the venue and viewing other projects, especially when I had to judge. In general, navigating conference venues is difficult, and the small tables/booths make it difficult for the representatives to share all the information about their project.
What it does
Mobile AR app. Gives users information about how to navigate a space using AR. Tables/projects will be shown via AR holograms and the app has a tracking system that shows the user how to get to the desired table/project with AR overlays.
How I built it
Unity 3D, ARKit, 8th Wall, C#, and a lot of debugging.
Challenges I ran into
Unity version errors with the API we used
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
FInishing the hack in 1 night
What I learned
Difficulty with realtime image tracking
What's next for NavHack
Building out a system that takes a floorplan and table numbers as input, and outputs a navigable space in AR.
