Inspiration
We took inspiration from UofT's Utra Sumo robots.
What it does
The robot follows a black line and avoids obstacles in front of it.
How we built it
We built the robot with Arduino components and coded it on the Arduino IDE.
Challenges we ran into
The IR sensor was very inconsistent and required lots of calibration depending on the floor we tested on. Additionally, the battery of the robot died during the testing phase.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that our robot can turn on shallow lines and sometimes turn on sharp corners.
What we learned
We learned how to code simple Arduino components such as IR sensors and ultrasound sensors.
What's next for Nano Nomads
We need to improve the ultrasound sensor more consistent with a new algorithm.
