What Is It About?

 The amount of the produced waste during Hajj is considerably higher than similarly crowded evens across the world with the amount of trash 23 times higher than (Hindu Pilgrimage) for example. This means that there is a huge room for reducing the amount of the produced wastes from the early source. 

Solution

    Our solution to this problem is a machine-learning based program that is able to predict the amount of the produced waste per person at a day for each sub-region at (Mina). This information will be useful to prioritize the improvement process towards the regions with higher waste production in order to reduce the source of waste. The uniqueness of this solution is that it is a 100% software solution which only requires previous data to train the machine.  The philosophy of using a hardware-free solution is to avoid the high costs of hardware as well as the problems associated with its future maintenance.    

Conclusion

    Reducing the number of wastes from the beginning will reduce the costs and save the efforts of the collection and disposal of trash. Moreover, it will reduce the spread of diseases related to the accumulation of trash at such a crowded situation as well as minimizing the environmental side effects of the disposal of the wastes.
