Inspiration
We were inspired by the Sun Life Sponsored challenge to educate the youth about personal finance.
What it does
This web program gives the user a rough estimate of what they should be putting their saving towards, according to their personal spendings. It also gives the user a few basic financial tips on how to set up retirement plans, emergency funds, etc.
How we built it
We built it using React, Next.js, JavaScript, CSS.
Challenges we ran into
Learning React and Next.js was a big challenge for half of the team members. Also building and running a workable web program was a challenge. Furthermore, it was our first in-person hackathon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It being our first in-person Hackathon is an accomplishment of its own. Also, roughly learning and implement new frameworks is something to be proud of.
What we learned
Next.js, React, Javascript. Basic API implementation.
