Inspiration
We got the inspiration from the problems faced by the Delhi residents as the weather of the Delhi is quite unperictable and the traffic conditions are very bad. So, we thought that we should do something to solve this problem. This led us to My Weather App.
What it does
This app basically tells us the weather and temperature of Delhi region and gives us smart suggestion about which vehicle should we take based on the weather and temperature.
How we built it
We first basically designed the ui/ux prototype in abobe xd and then implemented it in android studio, designing the various ui with xml codes. Then we started to connect the API to our app which was the open weather API. We wrote the java code and refined it many times over.
Challenges we ran into
The first major challenge that we encountered was when we were designing the ui in android studio, we had a hard time recreating what we created in adobe xd by only using the xml codes. The second major challenge was when we were joining the open weather API with our app. We were not able to get our desired results with the API, then later there were more updates in the API which we were not aware of. Still we were able to overcome the hurdles and create this app.
What we learned
First and foremost I want to thank Harnoor sir with all my heart for this opportunity, we have learned a lot of things from this project, some of them are working in a team, how to make a fully working app, how to design different ui, how to integrate a API in the app.
What's next for My Weather App
We would like to add new features to the app in the future, some of our idea are, instead of one city we can provide data about other cities, we also think that we should add some animations in the app and when it gives us suggestions.
