My Carbon Buddy

Inspiration

We all care about the environment and our futures. The video we used in our pitch really opened our eyes about what is going on and we wanted to have our hand in the fight against climate change.

What it does

My Carbon Buddy is a daily challenge game where users can log points for doing different sustainable tasks and they work towards a daily target goal.

How we built it

We built the app with Thunkable.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was being able to prioritize our time and dedicated enough of it towards the app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to really bring our vision to life. Almost everything we planned for the app we were able to materialize.

What we learned

We learned that sometimes our backup plan works out better than the original plan. There really is no such thing as a "bad" idea.

What's next for My Carbon Buddy

We plan to improve our app in every way possible in the future. We will add more flower characters for users earn, more locations for sending recycled materials, more places for users to donate to, protests and petitions they can take part in, as well as additional categories of energy consumption to track. We can save the big spinning rock we live on, if we all make an effort to pitch in.
