Inspiration
During our college days we it was very hard to keep up with the technology
What it does
It is a community based task engaging application for campus ambassadors and their mentor, where mentor can assign some task with a particular due date and can monitor progress of the student. It provide a forum in which students can engage with each other by sharing & collaborating with each other. It also have a resources center where a student or mentor can add learning resource.
How we built it
The tech stack used to build it are Node.js-Express with EJS templating engine and MongoDB. We started with creating basic wireframe idea and MVC architecture on paper, then proceeded with implementing those.
Challenges we ran into
First we tried to use React with Webpack but due to conflicts in code of different versions of dependencies, we decided to use EJS. We thought about integrating group chats and push notifications, but due to complexity of the application, we failed to implement those features.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
For the first time we developed the application within so less amount of time. We are proud to be a part of this Hackathon.
What we learned
The first thing is we didn't thought about creating a prototype of the idea before coming to the Hackathon, also whatever we thought was with a developer perspective, we were not brainstorming as a user. These issues we will try to overcome in future.
What's next for my-campus
We have a thought about completing the whole application by implementing all the features we have decided so far and provide this for public use.
