Inspiration

We were tired of bland meals and empty wallets. We also wanted to have more variety of drink options when hosting or going out with friends. So, we came up with Mr Recipe, a web application that helps users discover delicious and nutritious recipes, as well as cocktail recipes, based on their preferred ingredients.

What it does

It takes in a list of ingredients suggested by the user, and returns recipes based on that input. The user can choose between cocktail or food recipes.

How we built it

With React and a lot of googling, for debugging and to build a comprehensive database of recipes.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was finding a way to make the recipe and cocktail suggestion mechanism work effectively. We had to make sure that the mechanism was able to suggest recipes and cocktails that met the user's preferences while also being delicious and easy to follow.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating an application that is fast, clean and has a practical usage.

What we learned

We learned a lot about the importance of user experience. We also learned that, even with a small team, it's possible to create a web application that can help users in their daily life.

What's next for Mr Recipe

We plan to continue improving Mr Recipe by adding more recipes and refining the recipe suggestion mechanism. We also plan to add new features such as the ability to save favourite recipes and create shopping lists. We also want to expand Mr Recipe to mobile platforms and improve the overall performance and user experience.
