Inspiration

Our passion for basketball drives us everyday to play the game. Me and my partner Rohan wanted to educate the general crowd about the game of basketball. Basketball as you guys know originated in Canada. We have a different level of passion for the game. This drove us to create an website that shows you skill moves and how to do them.

What it does

There is an extensive selection of skill moves available, carefully categorized to cater to a range of expertise levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Users can effortlessly browse through these options, each accompanied by a brief preview. When a particular move piques their interest, they can simply click on it to access a much larger, high-resolution view. This enhanced display not only provides a detailed visual breakdown of the move but also includes comprehensive annotations, step-by-step instructions, and expert tips, offering users a deep dive into the mechanics, nuances, and best practices for mastering the technique. The interactive interface ensures that users can fully engage with the content, allowing for a more immersive learning experience.

How we built it

We built the app using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. These three fundamental languages form the backbone of modern web development. With HTML, you structure your content; with CSS, you style and design it; and with JavaScript, you bring it to life with interactivity and dynamic features. Mastering these languages opens up endless possibilities in the digital world, allowing you to create powerful and engaging web applications.

Challenges we ran into

When we were integrating the backend to the frontend we ran into copious amounts of server errors.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

My partner is 15 and I am 14 and we are making such creative apps. This is a astonishing accomplishment for us due to the fact that we are so young yet we can achieve so big.

What we learned

We learned that backend development involves much more than just connecting a server to the frontend. It includes:

Database Management: Efficiently setting up and maintaining databases. API Development: Designing and managing APIs for frontend-backend communication. Authentication and Authorization: Ensuring secure user access and permissions. Server Management: Deploying, scaling, and monitoring server environments. Error Handling and Logging: Managing errors and logging for stability. Security: Protecting against threats and ensuring data safety.

What's next for Move Master

We are planning to add more sports and more moves. We are also planning to make training plans to accommodate based on the sport using the skills that we have mentioned in the website. We also want to partner up with coaches, fitness trainers, professional athletes, to help make the data and drills we provide to the user as helpful as possible. We also want to redo the design a bit and make it more modern and fluent. Last thing was making so it doesnt feel like a online course and more like you are there in person learning. This would be by adding videos, real time progression bar, adding coaches who can reply back to you and maybe personal fitness trainers/coaches in your area.
