MOOON !

Inspiration and what it does

Although there has been an in awareness for mental health and environmental consciousness, we found that a lot of people tend to prioritize convenience and academic or career-driven goals. This may be the case because most of the self-care and environment sustainability related tasks are displayed to be quite time consuming and inefficient, but we believe that a little can go a long way.

How we built it

We drew customized graphics for the program and designed the UI/UX for the program on Figma. We then used Visual Studio Code as the IDE and React Native to program the application. We tested our code with Expo Go on both iPhone and Android.

Challenges we ran into

As a team of rookie computer programmers, we ran into many challenges over the course of the hackathon. From trying to figure out how to use Figma to watching hour long tutorials on how to code, the whole process was a rollercoaster. Specifically, trying to manage our time to spend on the different stages of the projects was an area we could have improved on. We spent a lot of time on the design portion of the project, leaving us with little time with self-learning how to code. However we were not discouraged and powered through until the end to submit our work!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our accomplishments for the UI/UX of a program, namely the clean and seamless interface of our app

What we learned

We learned that a simplistic design still have a lot of components to figure out and code.

What's next for Mooon

In the future, we hope to add functions to allow users to easily share their progress on social media platform, making the process of growth more entertaining.
