Moodify

Inspiration

We all love music so we wanted to do something unique and really challenge ourselves.

The app uses human emotion to create a Spotify playlist depending on what emotion you are displaying.

We built it using React and Spotify Web API.

Learning OAuth 2.0 on Spotify and getting songs for user samples.

Creating an algorithm to filter through songs and figure out how different features of the song correlate to mood.

We learned to work together as a team and we definitely learned a lot about using GitHub to our advantage.

We hope to add more features and functionality to create a better user experience.

I worked on integrating Spotify APIs and our mood based recommendation algorithm

I worked on the actual user interface of the project and created the facial recognition model to detect the emotion displayed by the user.

Dev Kharvari
I researched the correspondence between audio features and mood and designed the algorithm to select tracks.

Joseph Mogavero
I worked with React for the first time, and helped generate the website as well as create the AI model in itself.
