Inspiration

The genesis of the idea to create a marketplace for domain-specific AI models, pre-trained from Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-3, lies at the intersection of two key observations: the value of specialization in artificial intelligence and the transformative potential of blockchain technology.

Their broad scope sometimes limits their ability to provide in-depth, nuanced responses in specific domains. How we built it

Our hackathon project was a complex endeavor, requiring a blend of various technologies and platforms to bring our vision to life. We began by building the frontend using React, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript. This combination allowed us to create a dynamic, responsive, and visually appealing user interface, ensuring a seamless user experience.

We integrated our backend with OpenAI's KPI key, enabling users to train their models with a single click. This feature significantly simplified the model training process, making it accessible to users with varying levels of technical expertise.

For the minting of NFTs, we chose the OKT chain due to its cost-effective gas fees. We wrote all the smart contracts required for this process, ensuring that users could mint their models effortlessly by simply clicking on the 'mint' button.

Our backend was set up in Firebase, a decision driven by its scalability, real-time database, and robust security features. We stored the fine-tuned models for users in our backend, providing them with easy access to their creations.

To further enhance the user experience, we set up a cloud computing server. This allowed users to try out their models directly on our platform, eliminating the need for local computational resources and providing a real-time testing environment.

Our platform was designed to serve as an advanced version of ChatGPT, offering a wide range of models for users to choose from. Users could easily switch between models, purchase new ones, and experiment with different configurations. This flexibility, combined with the ease of use, made our platform a powerful tool for AI model training and utilization. Despite the technical complexities, we successfully built a platform that democratized access to AI model training and NFT minting.

Challenges we ran into

During our hackathon project, we encountered a myriad of challenges that tested our technical prowess and problem-solving skills. One of the most significant hurdles was designing and testing a user-friendly UI/UX. Striking a balance between aesthetics and functionality proved to be a daunting task, requiring numerous iterations and user feedback sessions.

Building a no-code platform was another substantial challenge. We had to ensure that our platform was intuitive and accessible to users with varying levels of technical expertise. This required a deep understanding of user needs and a robust design process.

We also grappled with the complexities of integrating on-chain and off-chain payments. The lack of comprehensive documentation for the integration process compounded this challenge, leading to trial-and-error approaches that consumed valuable time.

Data privacy and security were paramount, and handling these aspects was a significant hurdle. Ensuring that our platform was secure and complied with data protection regulations was a meticulous process that required constant vigilance.

Lastly, we faced issues related to Intellectual Property (IP) and royalty management. Navigating the legal intricacies of IP rights and setting up a fair and transparent royalty system was a challenge that required a deep understanding of both technology and law. Despite these challenges, we persevered, learning valuable lessons along the way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Another accomplishment we are proud of is our no-code AI model generation system. By empowering users to train AI models without writing code, we have democratized access to AI, opening it up to a much wider audience.

Finally, we are proud of the way we have integrated AI and blockchain technologies. The seamless interplay of these two cutting-edge technologies is a testament to our team's technical prowess and innovative thinking.

What we learned

  1. Square's API: We learned how to integrate Square's API into our platform to facilitate seamless transactions. This allowed us to create a user-friendly experience for Web2 users, enabling them to bypass the often complex process of wallet registration and directly purchase NFTs. This experience underscored the importance of smooth user interfaces in driving adoption and engagement.

  2. Intersection of AI and Blockchain: Our understanding of the intersection between AI and blockchain deepened significantly. We explored how blockchain can be used to enhance transparency in proprietary training models and data. This exploration highlighted the potential of blockchain technology to democratize access to AI and foster a more equitable AI ecosystem.

  3. Neural Network Architecture: We delved into the architecture of neural networks for fine-tuning various Language Learning Models (LLMs). We also familiarized ourselves with the APIs of OpenAI, Bard, and other LLM platforms. This experience gave us a hands-on understanding of the complexities of working with LLMs and the potential of these models to drive innovation in various fields.

  4. Incentives for AI Creators: We spent time understanding the incentives and royalty systems for AI creators. We brainstormed ways to create a vibrant marketplace where AI creators can trade their models. This process highlighted the importance of creating strong incentive structures to drive participation and innovation in the AI marketplace.

  5. NFT Technology and ERC-6551 Contract: We learned about NFT technology and the new ERC-6551 contract. We gained insights into its implementation and the potential of this technology to revolutionize the way digital assets are created, traded, and owned. This experience underscored the rapid pace of innovation in the blockchain space and the need to stay abreast of these developments.

  6. AI Alignment: We grappled with the ethical implications of AI, developing strategies to filter out AI models that could potentially respond to unethical queries in our marketplace. This process underscored the importance of ethical considerations in AI development and the need for robust mechanisms to ensure that AI technologies are used responsibly.
