Watching SpaceX launches and thinking how cool it would be to manage a live stream from space!
What it does
You become a space director managing an astronaut's live broadcast. Keep him from cracking up, keep viewers from changing channels, and don't get fired by NASA.
How we built it
Built with SwiftUI for the interface, custom game logic, and spent three days balancing those three damn metrics.
Challenges we ran into
Videos refused to play! Space in filenames screwed everything up. Keeping the astronaut happy was harder than keeping my girlfriend happy.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Made a playable game in 48 hours! With emergencies, camera switching, and actual game over screens.
What we learned
Game balancing is brutal - players complain if it's too easy, complain if it's too hard. SwiftUI is awesome though!
What's next for MissionControllive
Add more space disasters, let the astronaut dance, and make a multiplayer mode to save the space station together!
