Mirror

Inspiration

We wanted to make something that enabled users to empower themselves.

What it does

Mirror lets user record video journal entries and tracks their improvement over time.

How we built it

We used a Flutter for the frontend app and video mechanics, Flask for the web server, Firebase for schema storage, custom API endpoints and backend logic for processing videos which includes a speech to text program that feeds into a semantic analysis tool and a facial expression recognition model to determine a numeric "mood" metric.

Challenges we ran into

Many of us worked with tools we haven't used before, so there was a learning curve.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud we were able to make a functional, end to end project.

What we learned

We learned how to collaborate better as a team and expanded our knowledge of incorporating new tools.

What's next for Mirror

Mirror is a stepping stone for our careers, allowing us to develop our skills as programmers.
