Inspiration
The project was inspired by the common struggle many young adults face when entering financial independence. Most students receive little to no guidance about managing money, credit cards, or savings accounts, which often leads to financial mistakes early in life. FOXGAR wanted to transform this gap into an opportunity by creating an interactive experience that turns financial education into something accessible, visual, and fun.
What it does
MiPrimerCapital is a gamified educational platform designed to teach financial literacy through interactive storytelling. Players experience real-life inspired scenarios opening a bank account, choosing between debit and credit, managing expenses, and investing wisely while learning how their decisions impact long-term financial stability. The game adapts dynamically to the player’s choices, providing feedback, tips, and consequences that mirror real-world financial outcomes.
How we built it
The game was developed using the Godot Engine, focusing on 2D interaction for better accessibility across platforms. Visual assets were designed in pixel art to maintain a minimalistic yet appealing aesthetic. The web showcase and documentation were built using React, Vite, and TailwindCSS, ensuring a smooth, modern user interface. All the music and sound effects were composed from scratch, aligning with the project’s original tone and immersive experience.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was simplifying complex financial concepts without losing their real-world accuracy. Balancing educational value with engaging gameplay required continuous iteration and testing. Technical synchronization between the Godot game and the web interface also posed difficulties, especially in maintaining consistent visual styles and file management.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The team successfully created a playable and educational prototype within a limited timeframe. They developed original music, integrated responsive web design, and produced a cohesive visual identity that aligns with the message of financial growth. FOXGAR is particularly proud of how the project manages to teach through storytelling—something few financial apps attempt.
What we learned
Throughout the process, the team learned how to translate theoretical knowledge into interactive learning experiences. They deepened their understanding of financial systems, user engagement, and cross-platform design. Most importantly, they realized that education can be truly effective when presented with empathy, creativity, and a sense of play.
What's next for MiPrimerCapital
The next step for MiPrimerCapital is to expand the prototype into a full-fledged educational platform. Future updates will include additional story chapters, adaptive difficulty, and collaborations with financial institutions to ensure accuracy and real-world impact. FOXGAR also plans to develop mobile and web versions for broader reach, allowing more students to start their financial journey with confidence.
