Inspiration

We had a personal experience where we met volunteers from different shelters. They came to the University of St. Thomas and made presentations about the social problems they actively work to alleviate. Examples include, homelesseness, domestic abuse, prostitute rehabilitation and food insecurity

What it does

Our site is an interactive database that connects individuals looking for assitance by locating were they are at the moment and showing them areas of refuge catered to their specific needs.

How I built it

We built it using JavaScript, Vue, an Sqlite database, LeafLet.js.

Challenges I ran into

Google Cloud was very challenging to connect to the database outside of the cloud platform.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Web Scraping! It was awesome to be in a team and serve the community.

What I learned

It is challenging to implement paid software in 24 hours without prior experience.

What's next for Minne Hope

Keep building the website and finish the API that connects the website to the database. Then we should do some social outreach to make our mark in the community.
