Inspiration
We took inspiration from our family's experience in buying a house and spending money further to care for environmental issues like a poor foundation.
What it does
This website allows for first-time homeowners to consider all aspects, the good and the bad, when investing in a house. It allows homeowners to select through houses based on their income, financial plan, and location. Most importantly, it allows them to see the risks of buying a house in a particular area, such as specific insurances they might have to purchase or any environmental conditions they might have to encounter.
How we built it
We built it using tailwind CSS, react, and firebase
Challenges we ran into
We faced some issues in connecting the website to a firebase. We also faced challenges in determining the best UI for the website, whether it was better to have a pop-up or subcomponents.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One thing we're so proud of on this website is our Tinder-like swiping mechanism for choosing favorites. Another thing we love about this website is the neat and concise UI.
What we learned
We learned how to implement CSS to create dynamic pages using React. Seeing the pages adapt to different screens successfully was so rewarding!
What's next for MiCasa
MiCasa could grow to take in information such as student loans to better educate users on making the right housing decision.
