Inspiration
Our inspiration came from "What should we build for our hackathon". We first considered building a healthy recipe-generating AI, where the user can input what they currently have in the fridge to produce different types of healthy meals that they can make. However, we thought this was not very unique, Simon's idea was to create maybe a hackathon project managing software, which became more of a general project execution software.
What it does
It is aimed to be able to get users' project outlines generate a full-on plan for the project and delegate the different tasks based on the team members ' skills. Metis is focused on beginning/executing the project from a simple idea, which will make the whole process of starting one to be faster and shorter.
How we built it
We used Figma to build a mockup version of the software.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenges were the fact that most of our team was new to programming as a whole and it was our first hackathons. Our skillsets didn't align so it was difficult to use one programming language to build something all together so we chose to use Figma to build a mockup version of the system instead.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were proud that we were able to build the full mockup for a great idea, the fact that this software isn't actually limited to project managers or people in the project teams, but also students who want to develop their idea and build a project like in students teams and club.
What we learned
Through this journey, we were able to learn and understand the environment of a Hackathon as it was the first hackathon for most of us. We now understand what we can do in the next hackathon, where we wouldn't just end with a mockup of an idea, but an actual fully function software.
What's next for Metis
This software is currently only a mockup, but this software can cleary have value especially when it is able to connect and work together with other project management software. This can make the whole process of managing a project to become much more efficient.
