Inspiration

The inspiration for MetaExplore stemmed from the desire to revolutionize the tourism experience by leveraging cutting-edge technologies in the realm of the metaverse. The team aimed to create an immersive and interactive platform that would connect people with museums and cultural sites in a novel and engaging way using AR, VR and multiplayer technologies.

What it does

MetaExplore is a metaverse exploration application designed to explore and study museums and cultural sites in virtual environment. Leveraging Unreal Engine, Blender, and Metahumans, the application integrates advanced technologies such as Lumen, Nanite, and ray tracing. Users can seamlessly connect through Epic services and interact with other players in real-time. The platform goes beyond traditional museum experiences, offering a dynamic and collaborative environment for exploration and learning.

How we built it

The development process involved leveraging powerful tools such as Unreal Engine for the creation of a visually captivating environment. Blender was utilized for 3D modeling, and Metahumans were integrated to add realistic characters. Advanced technologies like Lumen, Nanite, and ray tracing contributed to achieving a high level of visual fidelity. Live connectivity was enabled, allowing users to explore the metaverse collaboratively.

Challenges we ran into

During the development, the team encountered challenges related to multiplayer integration with concurrency and live updating. Overcoming these challenges required innovative solutions to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for users exploring the metaverse together.
