Inspiration
We were inspired by local restaurants. Restaurants have struggled amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. The management of restaurants has increased amounts of paperwork due to this pandemic. The MErgeRestuants database application helps to centralize systems.
What it does
Our project outlined a database that would centralized restaurant management. This includes: employee scheduling, inventory, recipes, table sectioning, customer ordering, chef tickets, customer billing, and finances.
How we built it
We used ZohoCreator to create a database for restaurants to use.
Challenges we ran into
Understanding restaurant management problems, while not owning a restaurant, and correcting the billing calculation to include tax.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of how quickly we learned the code/script of the program we were using, and how we were able to put everything together.
What we learned
We learned the benefits of a centralized system. Centralized management helps overall organization, environment-friendly paperless invoices, billing, payroll and inventory management.
What's next for MErgeRestaurant
To integrate the contactless payment methods.
