In today's tech-driven era, escalating isolation poses a threat to mental well-being. Having grappled with mental health challenges silently due to insecurity, I'm driven to create an app. This platform unites individuals in a supportive community, facilitated by AI interaction. Users can connect through a contact form, breaking the silence and overcoming insecurity. Let's combat loneliness, prioritize mental health, and foster a sense of belonging.

What it does

Mentify is a holistic mental health solution, utilizing advanced language models to offer a chat assistant, therapist support, and personalized medical recommendations based on your history. It encourages community engagement through open source, allowing users to share stories. Additionally, Mentify features an image recognition model for detailed medication information. It's not just a tool; it's a compassionate guide, leveraging technology to empower individuals on their mental health journey.

How we built it

I used Next.js + Github for the complete project. Challenges we ran into

At times, the language model (LLM) didn't provide the intended responses, prompting me to refine the prompts. Eventually, after adjustments, it began to function as desired. Additionally, we encountered latency issues as the LLM took time to process information, creating an awkward experience for users. To address this, we implemented loading animations and continuous text display features for a smoother user interaction.

What we learned

I have acquired valuable insights into harnessing the formidable capabilities of language models (LLMs) to effectively address real-world challenges. My learning journey has also encompassed the art of seamlessly integrating diverse technologies to devise innovative solutions. Additionally, delving into prompt engineering has sharpened my understanding of how LLMs respond to queries, enhancing my ability to extract meaningful and precise information. Furthermore, I've deepened my knowledge of UI/UX design, recognizing its pivotal role in crafting a delightful user experience and ensuring the overall usability and appeal of products.

What's next for Mentify

I am dedicated to enhancing the precision of the Language Model (LLM) within the Mentify application. My goal is to elevate the model's responses to a level that closely mirrors human interaction. To achieve this, I am eager to collaborate with open-source contributors who share a passion for refining and advancing the application. Together, we can harness collective expertise to create an even more seamless and human-like user experience.
