Inspiration
As medical advances extend life expectancy, dementia is emerging as one of the most urgent health challenges of our time. With an aging global population, the number of people living with dementia is rising dramatically, placing emotional, physical, and financial strain on families. Current cognitive tools often feel disconnected from a user’s real life, limiting effectiveness.
What it does
We built MemoryGame, a website with complex games to address those who are affected with Dementia. MemoryGame has two different games: puzzle and matching, The puzzle game comes with pre-template images and divides the image into a puzzle. Allowing for the user to rearrange the puzzle correctly.
How we built it
We built it using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Challenges we ran into
The main issue we ran into was connecting our HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files. Since we both worked separately and connected it at the end, we had many issues with the connecting part. We also had a problem with the puzzle game; each image wasn't able to be dragged or dropped correctly, which took a lot of time to fix.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of building a tangible website that addresses the issue of dementia.
What we learned
We learned how to properly code a website with HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
What's next for MemoryGame
We hope to add templates, where there are preselected images for users to select instead of making users upload them.
