Inspiration

COVID-19 made it very difficult to keep track of and document memories, which inspired us to create a fun and interactive lens that will make our memories meaningful.

What it does

This lens allows you to take four selfie images of your experiences and one POV image of your surroundings. However, there is an option to switch between your front and back camera for each image to personalize your MemorMEs!

How we built it

Using LensStudio, we created 5 different cameras and frames, which allow for multiple photos to be taken with one lens. This paired with the addition of the date and city in which the photos are taken makes the filter more personalized.

Challenges we ran into

As individuals who have never used LensStudio before, learning how to use this new software was a learning curve. We spent countless hours trying out various features and methods to create a lens suitable for Snapchat's Spotlight Lensathon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of and What we learned

We created this lens with no previous experience in lens-developing software. By learning how to use LensStudio we are confident in our abilities to create other lenses in the future and experiment with the different and endless number of tools LensStudio has to offer.

What's next for MemorMEs

When this lens is trending, it will be the perfect time to add a seasonally changing carousel of filters. This will allow users to take their selfies with face filters that are festive and reflect their personalities best.
