Inspiration
All of us on the team have had dreams that told us something about ourselves or gave us information about the future. So, we asked the question: What if we could live life twice but only mess up once? With this, we could use time to our advantage and prepare for tomorrow by sleeping today. The idea of being better prepared for tomorrow, being able to decode our subconscious's messages, and providing a good night's rest to everyone led to the creation of Melatonin.
What it does
Our product is a small, re-attachable sensor that you apply to the temple before and after sleeping in order to create simulations to help the user simulate future scenarios, review previous dreams, analyze dream content, and block nightmares. Press the button on the sensor while wearing to access a holographic screen to see all the data collected and processed, which can be navigated with a touch of your finger.
How we built it
Melatonin was sketched out and designed in Figma over the course of this designathon.
Challenges we ran into
The learning curve of Figma as newbies to it was hard, learning new software is always a struggle, but luckily Figma has more than one way to use it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This was our first designathon, so we're all proud of ourselves for competing for the first time.
What we learned
We learned a lot about how to utilize Figma, prototyping, and making designs in general.
What's next for Melatonin
Guess we have to get into neuroscience to make this product a reality!
