Inspiration
We both had the same issue where we had no one to guide us when we moved schools so we wanted to create a place where new students can be matched up with others based on similar interests
What it does
It is a place where new students can be matched up with others based on similar interests, and find friends during times of nervousness.
How we built it
We used html and css to make a frame for our website, and then we used python and flask to make the website interactive.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into alot trouble during flask, as it was our first time using it. We also ran into trouble, managing out time efficiently.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of completing our project, making it fully interactive, and reaching the goal we set at the beginning of the hackathon!
What we learned
We learned how to build a website and making it interactive using flask, we also learned about how fun and interesting hackathons can be!
What's next for Meet-a-Mate
We plan to have a larger data base within our school, and even expand to other schools! Also we plan to pitch our idea to the Link Crew club so that the groups they have also have similar interests, which will help them create better friendships.
