Inspiration
Nowadays not everyone can reach doctors/hospitals because of too many reasons. We wanted to help people to make better patient & doctor relationships. In addition, with the growing backlog of appointments, surgeries, and other treatments due to Covid-19, doctors have been unable to catch up the demand for appointments because they lack the connections to the online world that can facilitate interactions and often resolve medical issues with patients without having to be in person. Our website is able to free up space for the doctors to see more patients with more serious conditions. It's difficult to booking doctor's appointments, storing personal medical measurements. Sometimes you don't want to go all the way to the doctors to report your concerns. We wanted to create something with an impact on people, and simplify the medical process.
What it does
Mediverse helps patients find the right doctor for their current situation, as well as the most current diagnosis with an AI-based bot, and doctors communicate with their patients in an easier way.
How we built it
We worked on separate parts of the website. The website was built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. One of the members created and ai chat bot which asks you questions and solves your problems! After doing so, we implemented it into the website and added certain features to better the website.
Challenges we ran into
we were all in different time zones, so it was difficult for our team to collaborate at the same time. However, we were able to finish things separately and then merge them together towards the end. Several prototypes went into this website, specifically the ai Chat-bot.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're really proud of how much we got done in such a short amount of time. An ai Chatbot sounded bizarre and unattainable, but we got it done.
What we learned
We learned communication skills, strengthened our knowledge and experiences with coding languages and overall just got a better understanding of hackathons.
What's next for Mediverse
We're hoping to add more in depth features such as an actual firebase which stores login data and personal information. I also hope to actually implement finding local hospitals. This project can go in so many directions.
