Inspiration
Fragmented health records make it difficult for patients to maximize their proper aid in healthcare. This problem is especially prominent when patients switch doctors or manage chronic conditions. Traditional health journaling apps lack actionable insights, making it difficult to track meaningful trends. Mediary solves this problem by prioritizing the patient's experiences with accessing and sharing medical records.
Mediary's philosophy stands on the premise of full privacy protections and transparency. Patients should be able to control what information they want to share and what information they want to keep hidden. Mediary provides a robust platform that allows patients to log their health day-by-day while also prioritizing the privacy in the transfer of confidential medical records.
What it does
How we built it
Challenges we ran into
We had numerous challenges in the brainstorming phase of the project. It was difficult to create a project idea that is unique, creative, and innovative. Moreover, we became more inefficient as our progress started to wane after a few hours. However, we picked up speed again and were able to submit without a rush.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're particularly proud of being able to integrate all of our code (besides the database) in one repository, making the frontend-backend interaction practically seamless. We are also proud of the progress we made as individuals in becoming more comfortable with web development, databases, and APIs.
What we learned
As a group, we learned not to be too difficult on ourselves as we became comfortable with the unfamiliar. We each came with a unique skill-set and experience level that allowed us to not only learn from the project, but also from each other.
What's next for Mediary
In order to serve as a more effective tool for patient safety, Mediary is in dire need of a knowledge upgrade. We imagine that the addition of predictive analytics and access to prescription drug data will make our AI agent much smarter, accurate, and caring.
