Inspiration
We saw that there was a complexity around Social Media Management, and therefore we came up with a simple yet efficient solution to make it easy for businesses to track their activities on various platforms. This solution was inspired by multiple applications such as Spotify or Kindle where they had created a library for music or books respectively, so for our case, we created a library of social media posts. We also took inspiration from SocialBlade, an application that looks at social media statistics and analytics.
What it does
Our app gathers data from the Business's various social media accounts in order to analyze, see trends of activity and therefore help them make decisions around what to post, where to post, and in which frequency.
How we built it
We first created a user-interface prototype through Photoshop. This gave us an overview of how the app should look like. This prototype was then converted to an actual application through code and AndroidStudio.
Challenges we ran into
We first struggled in trying to find an audience for this case. After we got through the first problem, we then had issues with figuring out how AndroidStudio worked and learning the library; We came across a lot of errors when trying to build the application.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were very proud of our ability to complete the application, the pitch, the user-interface prototype within 24 hours. We were able to communicate with each other without having any major issues, and so we were proud of our teamwork and the reliability of our members.
What we learned
We learned to use AndroidStudio and applied the knowledge we gained in classes to create something. We gained experience around building an App and the business side of it. Working in a team of people with different strengths has an advantage.
