Inspiration

Medieval settings tend to imply knights. We thought it would be a fun idea to create our own 'knight story' and implement a user system for interaction.

What it does

Our project creates a Mad-lab of a medieval story.

How we built it

We used Unity to put together a UI and harbor our code. Our data was sent in through a few csv files, which we read and stored/displayed accordingly.

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot of plans that we were going to implement to make the program way more interactive, such as speech to text user input for commanding which answer to choose and fill in the blank choices. However, as we were restricted by time and by our technical knowledge, we were unable to implement these features.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re happy that the Google API worked out very well. The customizations that we made worked very well to set the mood and deliver. Altogether, our project looks complete and well implemented.

What we learned

It was a great learning curve, as half of our team almost never worked in c# or Unity. It was the first time we’ve used Google API as well.

What's next for Med Libs

Expanding what we wanted to do initially so that the program becomes more of our initial ideas.

posted an update

Med Libs has, unfortunately, needed to close the API keys used due to those keys being leaked publicly. Due to this change, the text-to-speech feature that would narrate the final Med Libs scroll will not play. Thank you for your understanding!
