🌌 Inspiration
We wanted to learn more about using Html, CSS, JavaScript, and React. We decided to make a web application to help with studying. The application will simultaneously help us learn the tech stack, but also help with further studying tech in the future.
🚀 What it does
MeaDO Galaxy is a way for users to study in a fun and interactive way. Our website motivates users to study more and allows them to collect cool coins.
Core Features
- ⏰ Pomodoro Timer: This timer allows the user to study with the pomodoro method. The user studies for 25 minutes with the goal to complete their tasks.
- 🪴Input tasks with interactive plants: The user inputs up to 3 tasks. The user also starts with 3 dirt mounds. Once the user creates a task they will have a sprout grow.
- 🌵Task Completion: When the user checks off a task as complete their plant will grow into a orange, apple, or cherry tree. The user can then collect these fruits and use them to earn quitter coins.
🤠 How we built it
Tech-Stack
- CSS
- html
- JavaScript
- React
Challenges we ran into
- GitHub: We had to extensively learn GitHub, branches, and merging.
- Adaptability: Adapting to changing circumstances (Ex: Members not being able to make it).
- React router: Using this framework to make tabs accessible and change to different pages.
- Saving Data: Saving tasks and coin count into local data, so those attributes are not changed when the page is refreshed.
☄️What's next for MeaDO Galaxy
- Pet House feature: We plan to create another tab with a pet. With the coins earned from completed tasks, the user can buy their pet dog, rabbit, or cat accessories or house items.
- A full list of all the tasks the user has completed
- Badges: badges earned from the user completing tasks (ex: Completing 20 tasks.)
