Inspiration
Need for convenient and safe rides across Arlington for students' recreation and emergency needs. Students can find like minded people who lives nearby to carpool. This also helps students to socialize and save money!
What it does
Connect Mavericks with other Mavericks in their proximity who can share rides Only available to UTA students with active @mavs.uta.edu email addresses and student ids.
How we built it
We used java and its library to create the main interface. We used .txt files to represent database.
Challenges we ran into
Authentication with Database Front-End devlopment password masking through terminal
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We came up with an idea and turned it into a software. As beginners in the industry, with this as our first Hackathon, we are proud of our project and hope that it will help the community
What we learned
We learnt about applications of Object Oriented Programming. We learnt about different frameworks-(react.js,express.js). We learnt about different APIs. We got a roadmap for a proper web application for this project that we will work on beyond this event.
What's next for Mavs Pool
Front-End Development Google Maps API Collaborating with UTA Parking Bike-sharing Extending to other campuses with transportation issues
