Inspiration
Mario was a famous retro game and we all love Mario!
What it does
Allows users to bring back their childhood memories.
How we built it
We used EchoAR to present the 3D models. We designed the models using SketchUp and Tinkercad.
Challenges we ran into
While we were converting the 3d models into a file that can be shown in the AR site (.obj, .stl, .glb, etc), the files weren't holding color which made the models colorless. We were able to fix this problem by using Sketchup to edit and download it as a .fbx file.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to figure out how to get color in the 3D models.
What we learned
We learned that files hold different types of information. For example, stl files don't hold color which makes the 3D model one plain color. On the other hand, files like glb, obj, and fbx can hold color allowing them to show up in a demo 3D model.
What's next for Mario Generation
We can work on other characters like Luigi, Peach, and Toad to make a large database of the history of Mario.
