  Classifier in Action!

Inspiration

Manga are comics or graphic novels originating from Japan. The term manga is used to refer to both comics and cartooning. These comics are known for the anime that are amazingly portrayed through sketches.

What it does

This project focuses on highlighting and labelling the expressions of various characters in the comics using Machine Learning. In all, the classifier can classify the facial expressions into 7 categories: angry, crying, embarrassed, happy, pleased, sad and shock.

How we built it

I built the classifier using Tensorflow and Keras in python.

Challenges we ran into

It was my first time using TF for creating such a project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The classifier runs smoothly and the project nails the theme of the hackathon.

What we learned

Learned to work on classification projects using TF.

What's next for Manga Characters-Expression Classification

Deployment, for sure.
