Inspiration

We’re a group of teens who understand the struggles of balancing assignments, tests, and extracurriculars. With so much going on, staying organized can feel impossible. We were frustrated with the constant pressure and realized we needed a tool that could help manage everything more efficiently. That’s when we came up with the idea for Managime—a platform designed to make managing schoolwork easier and more effective.

What it does

Managime is built to help students organize tasks by subject, set priority levels, and track deadlines with a dynamic calendar. It’s a simple tool that ensures users stay on top of their workload without the stress of scrambling to meet last-minute deadlines. By having everything laid out in one place, students can plan better and avoid unnecessary panic.

How we built it

We created Managime using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Our main goal was to focus on a clean user interface and intuitive task management system. The platform allows students to sort tasks based on priority and due date, which helps them prioritize important work and stay organized throughout the semester. The dynamic calendar view provides an easy way to visualize deadlines and plan ahead.

Challenges we ran into

Of course, building Managime wasn’t without its challenges. One of the biggest hurdles we faced was figuring out how to sort and display tasks dynamically based on priority and due date. It took a lot of trial and error to get it right. We also had to carefully design the user interface, making sure it was both functional and visually appealing. We wanted the platform to be easy to use while still offering all the features students would need to stay on top of their work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the challenges, we’re really proud of what we’ve accomplished. We’ve created a platform that’s not only easy to use but also genuinely helps students manage their time better. The priority-based sorting and interactive calendar have made task organization simple and seamless. As aspiring coders, we’re thrilled to have built something that can have a positive impact on so many students’ lives.

What we learned

Along the way, we learned a lot. We gained experience in optimizing JavaScript for better task organization, improving the user interface to enhance the user experience, and collaborating as a team to meet deadlines and create a functional product. This project taught us valuable lessons in both coding and teamwork

What's next for Managime

Looking ahead, we have big plans for Managime. Our next steps include adding local storage so that tasks won’t disappear when the page is refreshed, allowing users to create custom subjects for their tasks, and incorporating a timer to help students stay focused while working. Managime is just getting started.
