Inspiration

To connect people through gifs and humour by creating a friendly competitive site.

What it does

We would display gifs to the users and ask them to add captions. The users would then vote on the captions. We then decided to use memes instead, because there were a number of unrelatable Gifs.

How I built it

Using Node.js for the back-end, socket.io for communication, and TailWind for nice front-end UI. It uses the ImgFlip meme API.

Challenges I ran into

Backend is hard, and synching up multiple clients is harder still.
