Make It Your Space

MakeItYour.Space is our website designed to allow anyone to easily customize and space,and make it their own.

By simply uploading a picture of the room, along with what type of room it is, the user will receive a curated selection of recommended products to design their space the way they like it.

The webpage was created using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It takes in the picture and room type and sends them to the Python backend, which analyses it using Google Cloud Vision API and then creates a list of recommendations based on what furniture it finds in the room.

Prior to this event, none of us had any knowledge of google cloud and minimal understanding of JavaScript and Python. We faced several challenges due to this, such as how to set up Google Cloud and how to send information from JavaScript to Python, and there was also an issue with connecting to GitHub and corrupted files. These were all resolved with the help of the amazing mentors! A very, very big thanks to them.

The finished project would have the website display the recommendations, after receiving them again from the Python backend. Other future additions would include a broader and more curated selection of furniture.
