  Make Hackathon More Fun Idea

Inspiration

My idea is inspired from other hackathon platforms and because I am more a solo builder type instead of the ones creative with ideas.

What it does

Other hackathon platforms provide ideas or wishlist of what to be implemented in form of user stories so that hackers don't need to think of ideas and start learning and implementing.

How we built it

We can imagine hackathons are divided into 2 parts:

1. Idea Generation In idea generation, everybody can contribute and this stage may or may not have grand prize. The idea here is to collect ideas from people who have concepts and ideas and explain their ideas into slides, wishlist of features, user stories, and so on.
2. Build The ideas can then be built by anybody (not only the idea owner) and be submitted like other hackathons. This way, solo or group of hackers who don't have any ideas can participate and do what they do best which is building the app.

Challenges we ran into

Yes, the duration of hackathon may increase and there may be 2 phases of judgment. One is during idea generation and another one is during build. However, I believe this will make hackathon more fun especially for people who love to build. The ones who are very good with concepts and explaining ideas will also be helped as they can focus on what they do best which is the non technical part of hackathons.

What's next for Make Hackathon More Fun

We can think of idea generation done using DevPost tools. There're already tools to submit project media, github repo, and video link to present the ideas. In fact, this Hack DevPost hackathon to provide ideas and feedbacks are solely done using DevPost.
