Inspiration

Our main goal was to find a way to take Algeria's industry even a step further. Looking for the problem that faces the country and knowing that most Algeria’s revenue comes from oil, imagine the impact of an oil extracting machine breaking down and the losses it may cause.

What it does

With sensors to be put on machines, collecting data to be sent to the software where the AI model will be interpreting the data and predicting the anomalies so that the administrator can know the failing piece of the machine to either repair it or change it in order to avoid big losses, The AI model also suggests some possible solutions to solve the problem.

How we built it

the landing page we implemented it using react and tailwind the dashboard we've used python with django framework and templates engines and chartjs to present charts the AI model we've used pandas and scikit-learn and numpy and we've choosed random forest classification

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges that we faced is trying to take an example of a machine which its breaking down costs a lot to the company and to the country. We thought of oil extracting machines. We had to understand what are the parameters that affects it to use it as the features checked by our solution. Also, using an AI solution we had to have data and learn how to make the models implemented in the software with our limited experience in the field.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Mainly, it is the new things that we learnt weather it is the technical skills or the soft once like thinking the business way, how to identify the problem from a vast and general way theme than understand what causes it and its impacts to find a solution and finally find the technical implementation of that solution, bearing in mind that some of the used technologies were a first for us and the fact that we had to dare to use it anyway

What we learned

the main thing that we've learned was working in a team and making business plan , how to evaluate an idea and we've enhanced our communication skills besides the technical skills that we developed while implementing the solution

What's next for MAICHINA

Even though we’ve implemented a solution for oil and gas companies, still our solution can be customized to any kind of businesses like the health field or any other one, we only need to know what are the attributes that we need to measure to know the state of the machine.
Besides that, providing this service will result in a high amount of data that we’ll surely make use of; by time we can distinguish between good and bad quality products and advise our customers with.

All in all, our solution will help algerian industries get rid of the dependency to foreign maintenance, we won’t be waiting for months for a German or french engineer to tell us what the problem is, MAICHINA will tell us that before.
