Our project is meant to empower the consumer to further their cultural experiences through food. Throughout the country, different restaurants express their culture through their food and yet, consumers continue to waver when approaching unexpected foods. For this hackathon, we created an app that is meant to replace the modern menu found both online (usually on websites) or physically. The main selling point is the app’s mixed reality feature where restaurants are able to upload 3D renders of their food and allow costumers to fully see the variety of foods found on the menu. Current menus are lackluster, with a name and an ingredient list, and by adding a visual component to entice the consumer, they are more willing to take risks with their food if they find foods visually appealing. Furthermore, our menu app has a goal of spreading across the nation as every restaurant can make use of this new and improved menu. Again, this will only act as a boon for the consumer as now with one app, they are now able to nearly find different menus and see different foods that they would have never seen before. The concept is simple: the consumer has nothing to lose, nothing to pay, and everything to gain. Our app will revolutionize the restaurant experience.
