Inspiration
We were inspired by big tech company search engines which provide multiple amenities for users and act as a directory to multiple useful websites. Our web application revolves around a similar sort of a web portal which provides necessary facilities which are specialized for lockdown.
What it does
Our web app is a directory which provides specialized links to popular websites which are essential for users. Here they are speacialized to suit the topic of lockdown. Our home page links 3 different pages which provide 3 different, but very useful facilities which cannot be ignored by people during lockdown.
How we built it
From making the home page to making multiple web pages, our web app was mainly developed by HTML and linked to other pages using Flask Framework. CSS helped our project look attractive and professional. Our specialised pages are linked to popular websites which provide essential amenities. Our 3 basic amenities are Health and Fitness, Movie Streaming Service and Online Shopping and Ordering.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was the lack of knowledge in Flask Framework and Java Script. At one point we almost gave up while solving issues in the code but we remained calm and figured things out.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to learn a whole new language of Flask Framework in less than a day. We are now fluent in executing flask programs and writing codes for web apps.
What we learned
We have learnt that being in a Hackathon is extremely competitive and it pushes us up to the limits for building good projects. A little bit of pre-learnt knowledge is required to contest a hackathon.
What's next for #LOVE LOCKDOWN
An addition to this project would be addition of more amenities and facilities with specialized links to popular websites. What else do the users need more than an easy way to locate popular websites without searching through the internet?
