Hi, my name is Lan, and I made a website called Loop.

I was inspired by Monument Valley’s sense of peculiarity and Deemo’s spookiness. From there, it just spiraled into randomness.

Loop is a somewhat interactive short storyline (very random indeed). I constructed this website for entertainment and wanted to incorporate some fairly eerie elements into the site.

I assembled the website in replit using html and css. I organized the data using a multitude of folders. For the drawings, I utilized ibis-paint (I’m not an adequate artist).

During the team formation, I spent hours trying to find a team and brainstorm ideas. We were really uncommunicative, but I just ended up going solo and doing a different/random prompt. My primary challenge was the coding itself. When coding, at first, I would get frustrated because the links/pictures wouldn’t connect and at times, I just thought about giving up. However, I kept persevering and pondered possible errors that could be fixed, and it eventually succeeded. Having an “it will work out” mindset was really helpful because it allowed me to persist on the project and fix errors. By doing so, I overcame these challenges and ultimately created a functional website.

I’m really proud of being able to fabricate a complete project by myself, even if it’s not going to be as cool and practical as other people’s. In addition, I’m very excited to be a part of this hackathon and to complete the project in such a limited time.

I learned how to manage my time wisely and to work independently on the front end. I also ascertained that individually, there’s no one to reprehend my ideas, which can be a positive and negative aspect.

In the future, I would add more options and different endings instead of there being just binary/correct choices.

Thank you so much for for viewing my project!
