Inspiration
Our teammate Faris broke his leg last week. He is now wheelchair bound and slow.
What it does
We designed a linkage mechanism so that instead of using his (weak) arms, he can use his strong, burly chest to bench his way to class.
How we built it
We used a lot of 8020 for the mechanism, and we used an Arduino and hall effect sensor to display speed/distance.
Challenges we ran into
We would really like some shoulder bolts and some more time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Faris can now go faster and reports less physical effort!
What we learned
The ESP32S2 has an integrated HALL effect sensor so we don't need to use a sensor if using an ESP32. We ended up using an Arduino Uno so we did use it.
What's next for Loco-mo-ton
We will beefen up the the joints and add a cupholder!
