Inspiration
We realized that no matter how hard you pretend to be productive, your brain has other plans. One minute you’re coding, the next you’re deep in a YouTube rabbit hole about raccoons. So we built something that calls you out on your nonsense.
What it does
LockIn AI is your digital accountability buddy. It watches your screen and camera to spot when you’re slacking off and gives you a friendly “hey, get back to work” before you spiral into distraction doom.
How I built it
We stitched together some computer vision magic, a focus-detection AI model, and a Python backend that talks to an Electron app. It’s basically an overcaffeinated productivity coach that lives on your desktop.
Challenges I ran into
Turns out teaching a computer to know the difference between “thinking deeply” and “daydreaming about pizza” is hard. Also syncing live camera input, app monitoring, and notifications without frying our laptops was a bit of a circus act.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We actually made an AI that knows when you’re not focused and isn’t afraid to shame you for it. It’s equal parts terrifying and effective.
What I learned
AI can’t fix procrastination, but it can definitely guilt-trip you into working harder. Also, sleep is optional when you’re building something this fun.
What's next for LockIn AI
Next, we’re adding personal productivity stats, streaks, maybe even a “focus leaderboard” so you can compete with your friends for who’s the least distracted. Basically, productivity meets chaos.
