Inspiration

In our modern world, the concept of sharing has become increasingly prevalent. We see it in various forms such as car-sharing, scooter sharing, and bike sharing services. However, one question that often comes to mind is, why isn't there a public sharing service where individuals can lease their personal items, like bikes, to the public using an intelligent lock system? This was the inspiration behind our project.

What It Does

Our service revolutionizes the concept of bike sharing. It provides an interface that allows users to unlock a public bike. Once unlocked, the user is free to use the bike, and their location is tracked via GPS for safety and accountability. When the user is done, they can easily lock the bike again using the same interface. This system not only promotes sharing and sustainability but also provides a convenient and efficient solution for short-distance travel.

How We Built It

To bring this idea to life, we utilized an ESP32 with an LTE/GPS Module and a brick kit to construct our smart lock. For the front-end and back-end development, we employed MQTT and Vue/NodeJS. This combination of hardware and software allowed us to create a robust and user-friendly system.

Challenges We Ran Into

Like any innovative project, we faced our share of challenges. One of the main hurdles was accessing the OpenLayers map API and collecting the GPS information. Despite these obstacles, we remained committed to our vision and worked diligently to overcome them.

One of our proudest achievements is the successful creation of a working prototype. This accomplishment not only validates our concept but also serves as a testament to our team's dedication and technical prowess.
