Inspiration

We were inspired to build this application related to sustainability due to the increasing severity of the environmental crisis, across the globe. Recently, there has been a toxic waste spill in Palestine, Ohio, catastrophic earthquakes in Syria and Turkey, and extreme winter storms throughout northern California. Humans are suffering from our own actions.

What it does

This application connects consumers with locally sourced and sustainable products. This supports small business while decreasing negative effects on the environment by consumers that normally shop unsustainably. Also incentivises consumers with the “gamification” of the shopping experience.

How we built it:

We based our website on a basic template provided by WIX.com and we built our components upon it. We added multiple pages, products and features to our website

Challenges we ran into:

Since all of us are beginners and have limited experience in Web-development, it was quite challenging to get started with how we want to build our website and how do we pull multiple components together.

We are very proud that all of us team members equally contributed to reach the same goal: bringing the local community together while also contributing to the environment

What we learned

AthenaHacks gave us an amazing opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills in web-development and product management. This was a great learning experience for all of us!
