Inspiration

Link Me was inspired by my personal struggle with finding relevant tutorials online. Many videos are either too basic or too advanced, forcing learners to waste time watching content that doesn’t match their level or goals. I wanted a smarter way to discover tutorials that truly fit how someone wants to learn.

What it does

Link Me is an AI-powered tutorial discovery assistant. It asks users about their learning goals, experience level, and preferences, then intelligently finds and filters the best tutorials, tools, and resources tailored specifically to them. Instead of searching blindly, users get curated learning paths.

How we built it

The idea started during a call with a friend who encouraged me to write it down. That helped me clearly define the product and identify what was needed to build it. I validated the idea using AI, then built the system using web technologies and integrated Gemini AI’s API to improve understanding of user queries and learning intent.

Challenges we ran into

-Users asked for tutorials in many different formats, which confused the AI. -Some users combined multiple learning topics in one message. -Early AI responses were not accurate enough for real learning needs. I solved these by improving prompt structure, integrating Gemini AI, and adding logic to break queries into structured learning intents.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-Turning a simple idea into a functional AI-powered product. -Successfully improving AI accuracy with Gemini integration. -Designing a system that feels like a learning assistant, not just a search tool. -Building something based on a real personal problem.

What we learned

-Writing ideas down transforms them into actionable products. -AI systems need structure to perform well. -User experience matters as much as technical performance. -Iteration is more important than perfection.

What's next for Link Me

Next, Link Me will introduce: -User accounts and learning history saved in memory -Personalized learning recommendations over time -Multi-platform tutorial sources beyond YouTube -Mobile experience
