Inspiration

I find myself living life with no concept of time sometimes. I created Lifeboard as a reminder, a sort of fear inducer of how fast time goes by and how much is really left. Instead of comfort, it reminds me of how uncomfortable I need to be.

What it does

It visualizes your life as a grid, breaking it down into a sort of visual form. It shows how much time you have left. It also has features that allow the user to set goals and have a conversation with a grown-up version of themselves based on a future version of themselves that they want. The goal is to face your timer, which is life, and also have conversations with an AI version of yourself and get advice.

How we built it

It was built using React and Tailwind CSS with Bolt. I also used Eleven Labs to create a model of my voice so as to allow the AI to have a text-to-speech feature. I also hosted it on Netlify

Challenges we ran into

The UI needed to be tweaked a lot of times. Trying to make it look clean and also reflective. The speech-to-text feature also needed a bit of work, as sometimes the user would maybe need to pause and think.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I was proud of the eleven labs feature and being able to create a model with my voice. I believe my voice has a therapeutic feature(maybe), so I was quite glad I could make a model that could sound really close to how I sound.

What we learned

I learnt how prompting needed to be very precise. And how integrating features would need multiple designs

What's next for LifeBoard

I plan to add more features like reminders and integration with a calendar. If possible, while discussing with the AI, the user should be able to add things to their calendar from the app. I also plan to tweak some parts of the UI.
